IMPORTANT WEATHER UPDATE:
Yes, we are operating and safe in the midst of Kananaskis flooding reports.
Camp Connect where we run Kamp Kiwanis remains accessible and is not affected by flooding. We plan to start our summer camps as scheduled on July 3rd.
Maintaining a safe environment for learning and participating in activities is a top priority at Project Kampfire.
Due to backcountry flooding in Kananaskis, we will not go on the planned off-site trips or day hikes during the first session of camps.
We will continue to monitor weather forecasts, trail reports and follow the directions of parks and government officials for the area to modify our programming as needed. We will continue to inform families if there are any impacts to our operations or travel. Parents and guardians can refer to our risk assessment and policies in the Parent/Guardian Manual and let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
We are looking forward to welcoming our first kampers of 2026 on Friday!
We are keeping those affected by the flooding in our thoughts. Stay safe everyone!
