Eye Recommend COO Teresa Sebastian shares why investing in your team culture is the ultimate competitive advantage for independent practices. When your team is supported, highly trained, and aligned, the patient experience improves naturally—building the kind of loyalty that keeps patients coming back.
Start working on your business instead of just in it. Watch the video to hear from Teresa, and head to the link in our bio to read the full article to learn how you can level up your team.

Is your practice ready for the baby boomer demographic shift?
Canada’s population is changing rapidly. Baby boomers make up roughly 25% of our population, and they are entering a new phase of life. Over the next 20 years, the pressure on the healthcare industry, especially eye care, is going to skyrocket.
Since cataracts are the leading cause of vision loss in people over 80, the demand for cataract treatment is about to surge.
But there’s a major hurdle: Awareness.
71% of people don't know how to identify cataract symptoms.
84% don't know the prevention recommendations.
Now is the time to act. As eye care professionals, we have a crucial opportunity to inform aging patients about cataracts, symptoms, and treatments.
Here is how your clinic can prepare today:
🔹 Leverage emerging tech to diagnose cataracts proactively.
🔹 Start conversations early, taking care to address patient fears.
🔹 Educate patients on symptoms and discuss modern treatment options.
🔹 Encourage word-of-mouth by asking patients to remind friends to get tested.
🔹 Set up a referral program tailored for aging patients.
Prioritize awareness, education, and prevention to position your clinic as the go-to destination for Canada’s aging population.

June is National Indigenous History Month, a time to honour the histories, cultures, and enduring contributions of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples across Canada.
As a national network with members and communities from coast to coast to coast, this month is a meaningful reminder of the land we operate on and the relationships we are each responsible for nurturing—in our clinics, our communities, and our profession.
Reconciliation is ongoing. Listening and learning are part of that work, and we are committed to both.
We encourage our members across Canada to take time this month to reflect, engage, and honour the Indigenous communities in the regions where you live and practice.
