Wow did time ever fly!

People have been saying, 2020 is a write off. They may be right in some ways, but it also gave us a chance to reflect on what was most important to us.

I remember why I always wanted to have my own studio and that was to teach. This past weekend I had the privilege to teach 2 beautiful souls. .xlash

Getting to know both of them and hearing their life experiences have really touched me and this always puts my path in being an educator into perspective. Making a difference in each and every one of the students Iife is something I value most. Its not just about lashing, but influencing someone to make the right decisions by sharing my journey and knowledge to help them. As an educator you always want to shape your students and give them the confidence to go out there and give it their all as well as inspire their aspirations in the lash industry. Let us all put our footprint in this world. 👣

Y’all remember Janita? Wow! I can not be more proud of anyone right now than her. Let me tell you a little back story about this bad bish. She is currently working part time at Shades and Zara. She lashes part time before and after work. Before we met, she wanted to grow her lashing career and wanted more guidance on honing her craft, so she decided on taking our Volume Foundation Class. After careful consideration she decided to join the Shades Lashes Team in January of this year. 2020 has been a roller coaster 🎢 😜 of a year but we didn’t give up. Janita on boarded with Shades for 2 months but covid struck all of us for the next 5 months!!! Right?! 😝

Fast forward to today, we reopened our doors at the end of July and stayed opened, which means Janita only worked along side with us for only 4 months. My gosh, her growth and how far she has come today, considering all of the obstacles she had to overcome is mind boggling. Her dedication, hard work and hunger definitely stands out and speaks for itself.

- No matter what line of work you are in or goal that you are trying to achieve, if you don’t put in the work for it, you will NEVER make it.

How to protect others!

The best thing you can do is wash your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds. If this is not available then use hand sanitizer.

Wearing a homemade or non medical face mask is recommended by public health to help reduce the risk of infection and transmitting the virus. Particularly in enclosed areas or stores where the ventilation is weaker.

Wearing a mask alone will not prevent the spread of viruses. Continue to follow public health measures along with good hygiene and physical distancing will help in the battle of this pandemic.
