1 Corinthians 2:1-5
And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.
[2] For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. [3] And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.
[4] And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:
[5] That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

Paul said that when he came to preach he did not come with enticing words, or trying to convince anyone, but his testimony of what he himself experienced when Jesus stop him from going to do the high priest bidding, which is bringing men and women who believed in Jesus bound to Jerusalem.
He said, for I determined not to know anything among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified
Sometimes we think that we are doing the work of the Lord by preaching messages using enticing words.
When the truth is that we must preach the word of God with simplicity and understanding.
Paul said that he did all things with fear and trembling, but not the fear that the world knows, but with a godly fear, in reverance because he knows the power of the Lord Jesus first hand.

Today we lack nothing to do the work of the Lord
But sometimes we forget that the Holy Ghost has His part to do and we have ours to do as well,
Paul said,
And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:
In other words he was led by the Holy Spirit not of self, to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ with power and authority.

We often miss this verse, or rather ignore it, That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
And this is the only way for us to stand.
The church needs to be Christlike in nature. Or else we can take the tradition of man and make it the commandment of God, that is why you preach Jesus Christ, and Him crucified and the truth of His word, in a nutshell, we preach what Jesus told us to preach, and His life is our example to follow.

We must preach the love of God.
We must warn people about hell.
We must teach people how to build a relationship with Jesus for themselves.
We must tell people that obedience is better than sacrifice.
Above all we must preach repentance and the gift of salvation.

The disciple whom Jesus loves.

Lust is one temptation Scripture consistently tells us to run from, not wrestle with. You don’t prove your strength by staying close to temptation. You demonstrate wisdom by getting away from it.

The Bible says, “Flee from sexual immorality” (1 Corinthians 6:18) and “Flee youthful passions” (2 Timothy 2:22). Consider Joseph: when tempted by Potiphar’s wife, he didn’t argue, negotiate, or see how close he could get without falling. He ran, and in doing so, he honored God.

Don’t overestimate your willpower. Set boundaries. Guard your eyes. Guard your heart. Walk away from situations that feed temptation before they become sin.

Running from lust is not weakness—it is obedience. Every step away from temptation is a step toward holiness and a deeper walk with Christ.

Run from what can destroy you, and run toward the One who can transform you. Jesus always provides a way of escape for those who trust Him. 🙏🔥
