We recently attended a wildlife tree habitat workshop and learned about how these incredible trees develop over time. Some are shaped naturally through fungi, weather, decay, and age, while others are created through habitat enhancement techniques that mimic those natural processes.

After the workshop, I picked up a pair of binoculars, and my dog walks haven't been the same since. Once you start slowing down, listening for clues and looking up, nesting cavities and other wildlife features seem to appear everywhere. I had no idea just how many amazing wildlife trees there are throughout the Comox Valley.
