There are some changes in our Library.

The Protection of Privacy Act (POPA) is in place and we are making changes to keep your information safe. Read more about it here https://www.alberta.ca/protection-of-privacy-act

The biggest change is we will no longer be able to look up your account just by your name or phone number - we will need to scan your library card or see a piece of photo ID. Have you lost your card? No problem! We can issue you a new card with all your previous history included.

Our junior borrowers will need their own library card and carry it with them to borrow items without their parent/guardian present.

You can have someone else pick up items you have on hold, we just need to know so we can add the information to your account.

Membership renewals will need to happen in person, we can no longer renew your account over the phone.

We know this will take some time getting used to - for you and us! We are happy to answer any questions.

πŸ’š 55 Reasons to Love Your Library πŸ’š
Day 55 πŸ“šβœ¨

Fifty-five days ago, we began this countdown with the story of two young school teachers who had a dream of bringing a library to Cremona.

Since then, we've shared 54 more reasons to love your library, from books and programs to volunteers, partnerships, technology, history, and the countless ways the library enriches our community.

But if there's one reason that stands above them all, it's this...

You.

Every person who has borrowed a book, attended a program, volunteered, served on the Library Board, supported the Friends of the Cremona Library Society, donated, participated in the Summer Reading Program, or introduced a child to the joy of reading has helped shape the Cremona Municipal Library over the past 55 years.

This library isn't just part of our community's history. It continues to be part of its future because of the people who believe in it. Thank you for making the past 55 years so special. Here's to the next chapter!

✨ Reason #55 to Love Your Library:
You. Our community. πŸ’š

πŸŽ‰ The countdown is over! Join us tomorrow, July 1, as we celebrate the 55th Anniversary of the Cremona Municipal Library during Cremona Day. We can't wait to celebrate with everyone who has been part of our story!
