Benefits of Reduced Screen Time

Lately, my daughter’s head was literally in her ipad, all the time! I’d talk and she wouldn’t even hear me, I’d ask her to do stuff and would have to repeat many times and when she’d hear me, she’d do what I asked her to do with 0 focus. Her attitude was also affected. And this got me feeling super annoyed! I was also guilty of becoming so used to lazily depending on ipad to help me entertain my child and get the rest that I needed (especially during my pregnancy). This is when I decided to limit screens for my daughter to only 1 hour per day, only during weekends (and sick days). The first 2 days were not the easiest! She asked about her ipad many times, nagged a lot but then she learned to accept this new rule and managed to find ways to have fun after school without screens! And the benefits were amazing!😍 If you are thinking of taking this same step , I highly encourage you to do so! But first, make sure to prepare your children by telling them ahead of time about the new rule & reminding them about it few days before you start. Oh and most importantly, stay consistent with your decision!!!
