Lindome Structures offers a full range of portable and permanent fabric buildings and membrane structures

Not every build comes with a straightforward foundation. This boathouse sits directly on the water, which means every material choice, every fastener, every structural decision has to account for an environment that is actively working against the building. Salt air, constant moisture, tidal movement, and coastal wind loads are not edge cases here, they are the baseline.

Building in a marine environment requires a different level of specification than a standard industrial build. Our galvanized steel framework provides the first line of defense, with hot-dip zinc coating on every structural component to prevent the corrosion that salt water accelerates. Marine-grade fasteners and hardware are used throughout so there are no weak points where rust can take hold. The fabric membrane itself is selected for UV resistance, moisture resistance, and the kind of sustained wind exposure that coastal and waterfront sites see year round.

Beyond the materials, the structure has to be engineered for dynamic conditions. A building on the water moves differently than one on solid ground. Tidal shifts, wave action, and changing load conditions all factor into how we design and specify these projects from the ground up.

If you need covered space on or near the water, we know what it takes to build something that lasts in these conditions. Get your free quote at https://lindomestructures.com/request-a-quote/ - or call us at call (604) 946-7966 to talk through your project.

"The Nest is taking shape in Tsawwassen.

98,000 square feet across two climate-controlled buildings. 12 volleyball courts with competition-grade Taraflex flooring. 14 pickleball courts that can expand to 28 for major tournaments. 10m ceilings. Professional lighting. Year-round climate control.

When it opens in Spring 2026, it'll be Western Canada's largest volleyball and pickleball facility. Working on behalf of Tsawwassen First Nation, Volleyball BC, and Seaside Volleyball Club to bring this facility to life. It's the kind of infrastructure investment that serves communities for decades. This purpose-built space can handle the demands of elite competition while remaining accessible for community programming.

This project demonstrates what Lindome's fabric structures excel at: creating massive clearspan spaces that efficiently work for their intended use. The engineering allows for proper ceiling heights with zero interior columns so that the space feels expansive and open. Athletes and amateurs alike get the space they need to perform and play. Facility operators get the layout flexibility they need.
