When families are discharged from the hospital, they’re often sent home with a checklist and a few quick instructions.

But here’s the truth I’ve seen as both a nurse and an IBCLC:
➡️ Hospital education is designed to be standardized and efficient.
➡️ Families, however, need support that is personalized and ongoing.

This is why so many breastfeeding challenges show up after discharge—not because parents are doing anything wrong, but because their unique needs weren’t fully addressed in those rushed moments.

That’s where private lactation support can make such a difference. 🌸
✨ Time for your specific questions
✨ Guidance tailored to your baby and your body
✨ Support that continues beyond the hospital walls

You deserve care that meets you where you are—not just a checklist at discharge.

💌 I offer free 20-minute consults to explore what support could look like for your family.

❌ Myth: “Pain is normal when breastfeeding”
✔️ Truth: While breastfeeding can sometimes feel uncomfortable at first, ongoing pain is a signal that something isn’t right.

You deserve to feel confident and comfortable while feeding your baby. 🌸 Often, small adjustments in latch, position, or support can make a big difference.

💬 Have you been told pain is “just part of it”? You’re not alone—and support is available.

📝 Mini-Educational Tip

Did you know? Babies often look awake in REM sleep. They may move, make noises, or even open their eyes briefly — but they’re still sleeping. Sometimes, pausing before intervening gives them a chance to drift back into deeper sleep. 🌙

Many new parents feel caught off guard by how challenging breastfeeding can be.

👉 Sometimes it’s cracked or sore ni***es.
👉 Sometimes it’s baby refusing one side.
👉 Sometimes it’s constant worry about “am I making enough milk?”

As an IBCLC and Perinatal Nurse, I help families with:

✨ Latch & positioning adjustments that actually feel better
✨ Identifying when pain is more than just “normal tenderness”
✨ Supporting supply — whether you’re exclusively breastfeeding, combo feeding, or pumping
✨ Strategies for nighttime feeds that protect your rest

💡 Breastfeeding isn’t always intuitive — and that’s okay. With the right support, it does get easier.
