The new guidelines for safe operating procedures for Dental Health Practitioners were released on Friday, May 15. Dr. Henry has lifted her order, but has continued to reiterate that it will be a gradual return to opening.
These are positive steps to get us back to providing oral health care for our patients!
Our next steps before we can fully reopen is to ensure we have the necessary PPE and other equipment necessary to follow those guidelines and ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. We are working hard to do just that!
It is an absolute privilege to serve our patients and we look forward to getting to do that again in the near future. We anticipate it will still be several weeks before we will be able to be operational, but we will continue to provide updates here. We appreciate your patience, and we continue to encourage you to call the office if you need emergency treatment.

***Update*** As we look forward to seeing all of our wonderful patients again, we would like to explain the current situation. Although the Premier has advised that dentistry will be able to reopen after the coming long weekend, there are two things that need to happen before we can resume services.
Firstly, the PHO, Dr. Henry, needs to lift the order that limits dentists to providing emergency treatment.
Secondly, the College of Dental Surgeons of BC will need to provide the protocols and guidelines that we as an industry will have to follow to keep patients and staff safe.
Until those two criteria are met, we are unable to take bookings for non-emergency procedures. If you are experiencing an emergency at this time please contact our office.
We are working hard to be ready for the time to welcome our patients once again, but have been advised that it may be a slow progression back to full time care.

So fun to see so many people in the community out at Duncan Days today! We had a blast sharing our ‘Tooth Fairy’ game and handing out Mountview Dental swag! We’re so grateful to be part of such a wonderful community!
