🏗️ Project Update: Roof Job Complete
Proud to showcase our team at High Definition Roofing Ltd. wrapping up the roof on the new Cowichan Urgent & Primary Care Centre (940 Government St, Duncan).

We installed a high‑quality true 2‑ply torch‑on system—engineered for durability and minimal maintenance—to support this critical community infrastructure.

Why this project matters:
• The new UPCC is part of a regional expansion to boost access to team‑based urgent & primary care for the Cowichan Valley.

• It’s designed for same‑day care for non‑emergency issues (sprains, cuts, fevers, minor infections) and also provides longer‑term primary care for attached patients.

• The facility is approx. 10,000 sq ft (≈930 m²) and will employ around 30 full‑time equivalent staff including family physicians, nurse practitioners, RNs, social workers and mental‑health clinicians.

Why our roofing work is important:
By installing a top‑tier, true 2‑ply torch‑on roof system, we’re delivering a roofing solution built to protect vital healthcare space—from the top down. The building’s longevity, weather‑resilience, and facility reliability all benefit when the roof is done right.

For those of you that don't know, I'd love to give some background on Gabe!
Gabriel has been working his whole life in building his basketball skills. He used to play for fun when he was little, We would play outside of our complex a lot, but as he grew up he faced many many challenges, at one point the Saanich police were convinced that he would be in jail by time he was 12, he was in and out of mental health and hospital, but Gabriel understood that this is not what he wanted for his life, so he turned his life around using basketball as his crutch, he dedicated everyday and every night playing outside at the basketball court by our house I had never seen a kid more dedicated. He even broke his arm playing basketball at one point, and was back on the basketball court as soon as he was out of the hospital playing with just one arm.
Gabe then began really training hard in middle school and then joined his high school basketball team and really got to show case his talents, and now has been accepted into TriVision, an elite basketball team, Gabe is just 15 years old and he's been accepted into the U16/17 division, this is higher up than his age category.
TVE U16/17 will be participating in two local Victoria tournaments, including the "Battle on the Island," and the "Vikes Nation Shootout"
- They also plan to set up an exhibition series with other Vancouver Island clubs, for some additional local play
- TVE U16/17 will be participating in the Western Canadian Championships hosted by PrimeTime Sports Company - this is the largest club basketball event in Canada
- TVE U16/17 is likely to participate in at least one other event on the Lower Mainland
- TVE U16/17 is likely to participate in an event or two south of the border on the west coast of the US - this serves as a great opportunity to play against better and new competition
through Gabe's hard work and dedication, and countless days in the gym and on the court and living a very dedicated healthy lifestyle, he is slowly achieving his dreams and his goals, we couldn't be more proud of him and we're so grateful for the opportunity to have a new wonderful new sponsor!
