Hello

Today is April 28,2026, to most people it’s just a regular Tuesday which it is. But to others it is known as the Day of Mourning.

Before I started as a Ironworker I didn’t know that April 28 was a day dedicated to anyone who was killed on the job, this day has held a special place in my heart because that means that someone went to work and didn’t make it home at the end of there day.

My heart always breaks for any family who has lost a love one to a workplace fatality.
Knowing that a family and kids are losing a Parent, Aunt, Uncle and Cousin.

In 2024 we lost Ashton Parson to a work place accident. It is hard to put into words how hard it is to hear losing someone so young from a work place accident.

With all the safety that is on the jobs and projects it is hard to believe that we are still losing loved one to a work place accidents/incidents.

Before you do any task make sure you know the hazards and you have the proper training required and please do not take short cuts, it doesn’t matter how many times you have done the job it only takes once to get seriously injured or worse.

You also have an obligation to refuse any unsafe work, work you don’t have to proper training.
