A RAINBOW HALO AROUND THE SUN
The backyard went quiet… then a circle of color appeared where your eyes don’t expect it.
This happened in a U.S. neighborhood at late afternoon, when tall, bright clouds were drifting across the Sun and the air had just enough fine moisture and thin cloud particles to bend the light. The colored ring is a halo/iridescence effect — sunlight passing through tiny droplets or ice crystals in the thin parts of the cloud layer, spreading the light into a soft rainbow band around the Sun’s glow.
The reason it looks so clean here is the timing: low Sun + thick cloud edges + a thin bright layer in front, making the colors show up like a delicate outline instead of a full rainbow across the sky.
You can see this in anywhere you get tall afternoon clouds after heat and humidity: Florida, Texas, the Southeast
Also common with thin high clouds in the Great Plains and Rockies
Best timing: late afternoon, when the Sun is lower and clouds are building but still letting light through.

Behold the first sunrise of Spring 2026 over Stonehenge ⏳✨
Not just a beautiful photo…
a 4,500-year-old moment happening right on time.
Today, March 20, the Vernal Equinox arrives—when Earth stands in near-perfect balance. 🌍🌗
Day and night, light and dark… almost equal across the entire planet.
And here? Something extraordinary unfolds.
🏛️ Ancient Precision, Perfectly Timed
As the Sun rises, it doesn’t just light the sky—
it locks into alignment with the Heel Stone, sending a golden beam straight into the heart of the monument.
For a brief moment, the massive stones frame the sunlight like a prehistoric lens—
as if the entire structure was built to capture this exact second.
No modern tools. No technology.
Just human intuition… and a deep understanding of the cosmos.
🌱 A Signal Written in Light
For the people who built this, this wasn’t just beautiful—
it was essential.
This sunrise marked the beginning of the growing season…
a natural reset… a promise that life returns.
And today, thousands of years later,
the same light still finds its way through the stones.
A quiet reminder:
Some connections between Earth and sky never fade.
Happy First Day of Spring 🌸☀️

🌕🌈 The Rare "Pollen Corona" over Finland!
Nature’s own laser show! This stunning Pollen Corona was documented over Turku, Finland, during the "Super Flower Moon" on May 26, 2021.
Why is it so rare? ✨ Mickey Mouse Physics: It wasn’t caused by clouds, but by Pine Pollen floating in the air! Because pine pollen grains have tiny air sacs (making them look like Mickey Mouse under a microscope), they warp the light into a unique oval shape rather than a circle. ✨ The Sparkle Effect: Those tiny pinpricks of light in the rings? Those are individual grains of pollen catching the moonlight! ✨ Super-Powered: The 2021 Supermoon was 30% brighter than usual, acting like a giant floodlight that made these "rainbow" rings pop with incredible color.
One of the most beautiful documented overlaps of biology and astronomy! 🌲🌕
