Do you know what needs are? Kinda/not really? Join the club!
Needs are one of the most vital and foundational pieces of life, but no one really teaches us about them: what they are, how to identify them, and how to get them met, especially when that means talking to others about them. 😱 (where my independent/avoidant peeps at?!)
That's what the latest podcast episode is for. Give it a listen and see if it helps you identify some of what you need right now. (You know where to find the link)
👇 tell me something you've come to know about your own needs, let's chat about it. I'll go first, below.

I am reading the most beautiful, tender book about a model of viewing and working with the many internal parts of us that are wounded and often control aspects of our lives. Aspects we try to change and dominate, often with little success.
If you've been struggling to contact and heal a part of yourself, if you're blocked over and over or can't quite reach where the hurt is and find understanding, this may be a book for you. Individuals can use it, and many therapists use this model (you can ask).
In Sacred Self work, the wounded inner parts of us often spontaneously appear and begin to talk. But sometimes we aren't ready to go that deep, that part won't communicate... and it often means there's another part of us protecting it, even holding it silent. So then we can talk to (and feel into) that part instead, and offer it some understanding.
But there are no bad parts, no matter how violently or fiercely they control us or our actions. How could we heal if we realize that all our emotional and spiritual and mental and wounded pieces deserve to be heard? What might shift into ease instead of control and abuse and terror?
I'm excited to bring more of this model into my work, especially for those who aren't ready to deep dive into the world of inner energy, but who are ready to understand "the family" of many different parts inside of them.
"No Bad Parts: Healing Trauma and Restoring Wholeness with the Internal Family Systems Model" by Dr. Richard Schwartz (written for the layperson).
