2026 TFSA at your fingertips.

It was my pleasure to speak on a local radio station about Tax-Free Savings Accounts (TFSAs) and the power of compound interest.

With my daughter recently turning 18, it felt like the perfect time to talk about one of the most meaningful gifts and advice parents can give a new adult: starting their TFSA early.

I strongly encourage parents to guide their kids to open a TFSA at 18 and, if possible, make an initial contribution - whatever your budget allows. If they’re working full-time or part-time, setting up automatic monthly contributions can make a big difference over time.

Your kids may not love the idea today, but they’ll thank you later when they see their investments grow.

And remember—while starting early is ideal, it’s never too late to begin investing.
