Mindfulness Monday 🌿
One of the simplest and most effective self-calming tools I use daily is called self-havening.
It combines gentle touch, breathing, and visualization to help regulate your nervous system—especially during moments of stress or overwhelm.
Here’s a quick version you can try right now:
Close your eyes, take a few slow breaths, and gently stroke your arms from shoulders to elbows while imagining a peaceful place (like walking on a beach). Count slowly to 10.
That’s it. Simple, accessible, and powerful.
I also like using variations like:
- Stroking from palm to elbow
- Placing a hand on my heart and focusing on gratitude
- Gentle touch on the neck while breathing through a concern
The more you practice, the more natural and effective it becomes.
