The rafts are on the water, the paddles are moving, and another incredible day of adventure and discovery has begun!
Today is Bug Day as our campers become young scientists, exploring the fascinating world of aquatic insects that call the Bow River home. Theyβll also search for insects along the shoreline and in nearby parks, discovering how these tiny creatures play a huge role in keeping our river ecosystem healthy.
From water bugs to dragonflies, every discovery helps campers better understand the amazing biodiversity living right in Calgaryβs backyard. πͺ²π¦π§

π WE'RE BACK ON THE RIVER, CALGARY! π
After weeks of waiting for river conditions to improve, there's nothing better than seeing our rafts back on the Bow River with the sound of excited Summer Campers! π
Today marks a milestone as RiverWatch Summer Camps FINALLY hit the river, giving young people the opportunity to experience Calgary's incredible river firsthand.
Throughout the week, campers will:
π§ Test the river's water quality
π¦ Spot wildlife along the shoreline
π¦ Discover fascinating aquatic insects and river life
π Learn about fish and healthy aquatic ecosystems
πΏ Explore native plants and river habitats
