Patti, who arrived in our care at just 7 weeks old, and she’s now a little over 7 months old - is sadly growing up in rescue while she waits for her forever home 🐾

We are not quite sure why she is one of our long-term adoptable dogs, but we’re so grateful to everyone who helps make her care possible along the way. She is a volunteer and staff favorite around here!

It’s been an incredibly difficult week at the shelter, and we’re asking for a little patience as we work through the aftermath of the extreme weather.

Over the weekend, our building experienced a major flood after our drainage system backed up, forcing us to temporarily evacuate all of our dogs while we cleaned, disinfected, and got the shelter back up and running.

A huge thank you to Paws Pet Pad Edmonton for caring for our dogs while we dealt with the cleanup, and to our incredible volunteers who dropped everything to help when we needed it most.

🩵 ADOPTION UPDATE 🩵

Since opening our shelter doors in January, 40 dogs have found their forever homes. While we’re proud of this milestone, we’re even prouder of what it represents to us 🐾

Our goal has never been to move dogs through our shelter as quickly as possible, but it’s to ensure they leave happier, healthier, more confident, and matched with the family that’s the best fit for them. We hope every dog leaves us better than they arrived. Thanks to our staff, volunteers, vet partners, foster families, supporters, and adopters - every success story belongs to all of you! 🩵
