Join us as we honour Canadian Women of African Descent in a grand celebration for Black History Month. Together, we’ll celebrate achievements and inspire future generations.“Celebrating Our Roots – Black History Month 2025” is a vibrant and engaging evening event organized by When African Women Talk. Held at the Pendennis Building in Downtown Edmonton, this event aims to celebrate the rich history, culture, and contributions of the Black community in Alberta. Highlighting the theme “Roots in the Diaspora,” the evening will be a celebration of identity, empowerment, and community through a mix of multimedia presentations, live performances, and thought-provoking discussions.

Often described as a high-energy performer and a crowd favourite Sterling Scott has become one of comedy’s rising stars. Sterling’s material stems from his experiences with relationships, family, being a father, current events, his incredulous outlook on
life and the world, and those awkward moments that people from all walks of life can relate to. Sterling’s style of comedy mixes laughter with truth, poking fun at things from multiple perspectives with the intention to unite people rather than divide. He has performed multiple times on television and streaming services such as Amazon Prime and Crave.
