The 4 things I wish I could go back in time and tell my younger self as she was starting this wild journey in the beauty industry♥️✨

1. Checking our EGOS in this career matters so much more than we think sometimes. Every time I learn something new, I wonder how I ever lived without that new technique or skill. Don’t be afraid to learn.

2. Find a salon that will work with you and offer training. It may not be the bougee salon of your dreams, but if they can offer you an influx of clients and you are actually practicing behind the chair- THAT’S WHAT WILL HELP YOU GROW. The only way to get better at your craft and become confident behind the chair, is to actually DO the hair. Yes, you’ll probably mess up, multiple times in fact, BUT the more you mess up- the faster you’ll learn how to clean up your mess.

3. You are in a RELATIONSHIP industry. Relationships are cultivated face to face and take TIME. So make sure every guest that comes in to see you, gets the best possible energy and service from you.

4. Look like someone that someone wants to look like.
No excuses! It’s way harder to convince someone you do great hair, if you can’t even put yourself together. Would you hire a personal trainer who was unfit? It’s always important to put your best foot forward. If you want to be treated like a professional, act like one.
