Join us for a focused weekend of scene work, on camera connection, and performance training!
This two and a half day intensive packs in the essentials of our entire 36 hour "Performance & Connection" course in a fast paced, immersive format.

This intensive is based on the Pochinko technique, also known as Canadian clowning. Students begin with a focus on listening. Games and exercises are used to awaken and encourage a sense of pleasure, an awareness of one’s immediate environment, and an honest response to internal impulses and external events.

Individually, creativity is explored with color work and bodywork, and eventually the students begin the making and wearing of six masks. These masks mark out the playground for the clown, students will be guided through the masks innocence and experience culminating in the “birth” of their individual clown.

Classes are 10:00 to 5:00 Monday to Friday.
Week #1 May 4 - 8
Week #2 May 11 – 15
Week #3 May 18 – 23
(includes all day Saturday 30 1:00 – 10:00pm, presentation 7:30pm)
Week #4 May 25 – 30
(includes all day Saturday 30 1:00 – 10:00pm, presentation 7:30pm)
*Please note there will be some work outside of class time.

📍Pre-requisites: None.

📍Cost: $1,000 ($200 non-refundable deposit required to secure your spot in the intensive) E-transfer payments to [email protected]. These rates are being offered at close to a 40% off the regular price for this intensive. As well as an added extra week (worth $300, included in $1,000) of building a turn (writing, producing and performing a turn, finding your clown make-up, finding your costume. This will happen in the fourth week).

THE ACTOR'S TOOLBOX – WINTER 2025
The Actor's Toolbox will develop the tools you need for success! Lead by the remarkable instructor Nikki Rae Hallow as well as guest industry instructors! It’s a one of a kind class NOT a workshop with 12 consecutive classes starting in January (only week off is family day in February) this semester!!
ACTRA Alberta provides members with the benefit from a discounted rate!!

• Level One:
12 classes for $725 ($60 per class)
ACTRA members pay only $362.50.

• Level Two: Regular rate $760, ACTRA members pay just $380.
