Happy Earth Day!

As we celebrate our beautiful planet, I was inspired by the incredible "Earthrise" perspective and the legacy of the Artemis II mission, which just saw the first Canadian fly around the moon.

This historic milestone only reinforces my commitment to protecting the green spaces and climate resiliency of our own beautiful home right here in the River Valley.

Every day, Edmonton’s firefighters step into chaos to stand with us in our moments of greatest need. It is a job defined by incredible sacrifice, and on Friday, I was honored to stand with them to celebrate the long and memorable careers of those reaching retirement.

While we recognize their years of service, we also hold space for the many who never had the chance to celebrate that milestone, honouring their legacy and the ultimate commitment they made to our city.

Thank you to the Edmonton Firefighters Union Local 209 for your unwavering dedication. You have always stood by us, and we are proud to stand with you.

I’ve officially added "Chief Wellness Pawfficer" to my resume, which mostly involves knocking pens off Erin’s desk to remind her that even a City Councillor needs a play break.

Happy National Pet Day to all the furry friends in Ward Anirniq. May your humans give you extra scratches and treats today!
