One of the biggest misconceptions about career change is that you're starting over.
You're not.
You're bringing decades of experience with you.
ā
The leadership skills.
ā
The problem-solving.
ā
The resilience.
ā
The relationships you've built.
ā
The lessons you've learned the hard way.
Those things don't disappear because you choose a different path.
In many ways, they're exactly what prepare you for what's next.
I've spoken with many professionals who feel stuck between where they are and where they'd like to be.
Often, the hesitation isn't capability.
It's the belief that making a change means leaving everything behind.
But growth doesn't require you to erase your past.
Sometimes it simply asks you to build on it differently.
The most successful transitions I've seen aren't made by people who start from scratch.
They're made by people who recognize the value of everything they've already learned.
What is one skill from your career that has served you far beyond the role where you learned it?

āļø Thereās just something about the first cottage weekend of the seasonā¦
The unpacking.
The fresh air.
The dock chairs coming back out.
Coffee outside in the morning again āšæ
After years of always feeling like I had to āfit life inā around work, I love these moments where I can just be.
The slower mornings.
The family time.
The ability to actually pause long enough to enjoy it all.
And honestly?
That balance means more to me now than ever.
Summer mode: officially loading šš...now we need the weather to start feeling like it's summer šš

When I went looking for my next chapter, I was really clear on a few thingsā¦
what I wanted - and what I didnāt.
This was #1:
I didnāt want to do it alone.
Iāve always loved being around people (well⦠most of them š).
The connection, the conversations, the shared energy - that mattered to me.
So the idea of becoming a āsolopreneurā never really felt like me.
What I found instead⦠was something I didnāt even realize I was missing.
A global community.
Every week, weāre on live training calls together - people dialing in from all over the world.
You hear the accents, the different time zonesā¦
āGood morningā for some, āgoodnightā for others.
Itās 6:00am somewhere.
Midnight somewhere else.
Someoneās in the heat, someoneās in the snow.
And honestly⦠it feels like Iām travelling every single week.
Then you meet in person at live events - and itās like youāve known each other forever.
The only surprise?
How tall (or short š) everyone actually is. That part never gets old.
But whatās stayed with me, week after week - for almost 6 years now -
is the feeling of being part of something real.
A community where you can be yourself.
Be vulnerable.
Be supported.
And grow - without having to figure it all out on your own.
Thatās something I didnāt want to compromise on.
And I didnāt have to.

⨠I spent part of my weekend on a live global session for our updated Branding program⦠and I didnāt expect it to impact me the way it did.
This wasnāt a replay or something sitting in a back office.
This was live.
With people joining from all over the world.
Asking questions. Sharing insights. Fully engaged.
And it made me realize somethingā¦
š This isnāt ābrandingā in the way most of us think about it.
Itās not logos or colours.
Itās about how we show up.
How we communicate who we are.
And how our lifestyle actually becomes part of that.
What really stood out?
There were people in the room with strong backgrounds in branding and marketing⦠and even they were blown away by the depth of this.
And something I genuinely appreciateā¦This program was completely re-recorded and delivered live againā¦and anyone who had purchased it - even years ago - was invited back in.
No additional cost.
In a world where everything seems to come with an upgrade feeā¦this business is different.
And honestly⦠that shows the integrity, and that matters š«
