Well… today was a bit wild.
There was a pretty serious cPanel vulnerability announced that affected a lot of hosting providers. My server got caught, which caused some downtime across the sites I manage.
I jumped on it right away, got the latest patches applied, and everything is now back up and running.
I’ve checked logs and security tools, and there’s no indication of anything being compromised. Just one of those situations where the infrastructure itself takes a hit and needs to be stabilized.
This is also exactly why I run things the way I do. Having proper hosting, backups, and monitoring in place means I can deal with this stuff quickly when it happens.
If your website is sitting somewhere and you have no idea how it’s being managed or secured… it’s probably worth a conversation.
For anyone curious, this is the advisory behind it:
AL26-008 - Vulnerability affecting cPanel and WebHost Manager (WHM) - CVE-2026-41940 - Canadian Centre for Cyber Security AL26-008 - Vulnerability affecting cPanel and WebHost Manager (WHM) - CVE-2026-41940

"For I am a tech in the hands of DNS propagation and support tickets.
Holy coffee, full of caffeine, blessed art thou among coping strategies.
Pray for me now and at the hour of this reboot,
which will go down at the worst possible time.
Amen."
Bought my first virtual private servers… immediately humbled 😂
At this point I’d be concerned if things weren’t breaking.

PSA: I’ve been hired to recover another Facebook business Page…
But this one is the worst I’ve seen.
The owner’s personal profile has already been wiped, and because of that, they no longer have access to their business Page. The Page is still live, but they can’t manage it, respond to messages, or access it.
This is exactly why you need a Meta Business Manager. If your Page is only connected to your personal account, you’re one issue away from losing control of your business online.
What you should have:
• Meta Business Manager
• At least 2 admins
• A reliable email (not an old provider)
• A verified domain (helps)
To assign a manager in Meta Business Manager:
Click your image in the top right corner then select Meta Business Suite from the drop down
Click Settings in the bottom left
Under "Users" select "People"
Enter an email address
Toggle Full control (or partial if needed)
