This quilt was made for my colleague Judy's teenage daughter. She's a special young lady. I'm told she wants to be a lawyer. It was my pleasure to make for her. This quilt was completed with contributions from Ashley Vey and Michelle Blair, colleagues of Judy's as well...and now some new extended family of Celia's - gotta love how quilts bring people together 😁

This quilt is my own pattern and it's frankly one of my favourite patterns to do. I do the big blocks first and try to do an ombre kind of fading across the quilt from the outside to the middle. Next are the rectangles/sides/tops which are faded opposite the big blocks (so fading goes from inside outward). Finally the keystone, or corner blocks, are set to contrast with the other two to lift the pattern off the fabric and make it immediately easy to see while drawing the eye all around the quilt.

One last unique thing with this quilt: my first label!

This quilt took about 40 hours and was stitched in the ditch.

The backing is minky from Shannon Fabrics' cuddle fabrics. Excellent quality fabric and soooooo soft.
