Happy Pride Month! 🌈

Pride is a celebration of identity, authenticity, and belonging.

It is also an important reminder that many of the people we support live at the intersection of multiple identities. Research consistently shows significant overlap between neurodivergence and 2SLGBTQIA+ identities. Autistic people and people with intellectual and developmental disabilities are part of every community, including the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.

As behaviour professionals, our role is not to determine who people should be. Our role is to create environments where people can safely learn, grow, connect, and live in ways that are meaningful to them.

At 🌱Taproot, we are committed to providing affirming, person-centred supports that respect the dignity, autonomy, and identities of the people we serve.

This month, and every month, everyone deserves to be seen, respected, and supported for who they are.

Today is World Autism Day, and we're marking it by celebrating the autistic adults, youth, and families we have the honour of working with.

Autism is not a problem to be solved. It's a different way of moving through the world... one that deserves support built around strengths, not just deficits.

At 🌱Taproot, our work is grounded in rapport, respect, and the belief that every person has the capacity to grow on their own terms. That doesn't change based on diagnosis. It never will.
