New client work!

TOPO Construction & Maintenance approached me about creating a simple vintage style logo for their custom construction business! Really happy with how it turned out 🏔🔨

When I was in school I had a class on the creative process. I have always been someone who kept agendas and sketchbook and filled the inside cover of my binders with sticky notes and doodles but that class introduced me to the idea of a creative journal.

Since then, I have kept a book with me everyday that I write everything in - ideas, thought processes, calendars, important life events, phone numbers, personal notes, work related lists, grocery lists and on and on. If I have worked on a project for you, chances are my initial sketches live amongst these pages.

Who knew this little book would ultimately become the way I organize my life and serve as my time capsule. Reading back through these is sometimes the inspiration I need to start the next project or finish the current one for that matter.

How do you organize your creative process?

The very first logo I designed was for a competition in 2015 when I was in high school. My design was chosen (💁‍♀️) and I haven’t stopped since. However, this logo here, for McConchie Farms, is the one that really started this design thing for me. I did this during my time as a fun little project. Now, as my family farm branches out into the business this logo gets to live its days out in the world! And I am SO excited about it!

I’ve never posted it in this way because it had always lived in the shadows as a dream, a goal and a “maybe someday.” That day is finally here so I figured it was appropriate to share today, a few days after
