A collection of paintings from Brian Lorimer’s new series, “Passage”!

“Passage”: the act or process of moving from one place to another.

Lorimer’s new series represents his transition from landscape to abstraction.
Lorimer writes, “I just couldn’t paint another pine tree, I needed to change direction. The art world doesn’t like change, just ask Bob Dylan or Neil Young. And I get it, but I believe it’s important to evolve as an artist. If you’re not experimenting and pushing boundaries then you get stale and that gets reflected in the work”.

These new paintings are bold and fresh and represent a departure from his previous work. One can still see nature rooted in the work. The horizontal bar at the bottom of each painting hints at a foundation anchoring the separation of foreground and background, but otherwise these paintings are pure abstract energy.

Todd White’s “unique” giclee canvas, “If I Didn’t Laugh I’d Cry”. This 30” x 40” giclee is heavily embellished by Todd, and different from the original release. It’s the closest thing to an original painting without the price tag. What a cool piece!

Todd began his exciting career designing many characters for the hit cartoon SpongeBob SquarePants. It was there that he developed an artistic style of exaggerated human features that define a person. With this he really captures what makes a person unique and sexy. In 2007 he was selected to be the official artist of the GRAMMY® Awards for that reason. Two years later, Warner Brothers invited him to be an official artist to celebrate the 70th anniversary of The Wizard of Oz. He is the perfect artist to properly represent pop culture. We might also add a collaboration with Coca-Cola and a gold medal from Diana Princess of Wales. These are high praise for any artist, and just some of the most noteworthy.

Robert Bateman’s “Leopard in a Sausage Tree” – 28” x 36” – Giclee Canvas.

“The leopard glides through the branches of the sausage tree without effort or sound and instantly blends with the convoluted limbs. The coolness of his attitude in his green, airy world reminded me of the atmosphere of a tropical café - exotic and relaxed.” - Robert Bateman

This is a fun one to frame! How would you frame it?
