There is comfort in routine.
Every morning we wake up, enjoy a coffee or tea, then set out on our jobs.
While Michael feeds animals and moves all the water lines and sprinklers, the kids and I uncover all the plants, open the greenhouses and fill the farm stand. We reconvene to access what needs to be done and any plans for the day.
At the end of the day we do it all in reverse.
As much as it is a chore, it is also akin to any other morning ritual like going to the gym or getting the kids off to school. It gets you up, moving and into the fresh air.
There are frigid wet mornings that I have to drag my reluctant body out the door, but by the end Iām thankful for the motivation.
