Important Update: ADHD Parent & Care Partner Support Group – Grande Prairie

It is with regret that we announce we will no longer be hosting ADHD Parent & Care Partner Support Group meetings until further notice.

Over the past several months, we have consistently heard from community members that this resource is greatly needed. Unfortunately, despite that feedback, attendance remained very low, and many meetings had little to no participants. As a result, we are unable to continue offering the group at this time.

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Reconnect Counselling and the Grande Prairie Public Library for their support and partnership in making this group possible.

A special shout out to our group host, Jennifer Simms, for her dedication, perseverance, and willingness to continue showing up for parents and care partners, even when attendance was low.

While the meetings are ending, we plan to keep this page open. Our hope is to continue supporting families by periodically sharing helpful resources, posting questions and discussion topics, and creating opportunities for parents and care partners to connect, learn from one another, and receive support through this online community.

Thank you to everyone who attended, shared, and supported this initiative. We are grateful for each of you.

💙 ADHD Parent & Caregiver Support Group Update 💙

We wanted to reach out to our community for a little feedback.

As many of you know, we have been offering a free ADHD Support Group for parents and caregivers because supporting families affected by ADHD is something that is very close to our hearts. We truly love facilitating these conversations and creating a space where people can connect, learn, and realize they're not alone.

We are going to make one more attempt to run the group before making a decision about its future.

📅 Thursday, June 18
📍 Grande Prairie Public Library

For this upcoming session, ate askinv prioke to just let us know they plan to attend, as we will need a minimum number of participants in order for the group to keep running

We are also looking for your honest feedback:

❓ Is there still interest in an ADHD support group for parents and caregivers?
❓ If you're interested but haven't been able to attend, what's getting in the way?
❓ Would a different day, time, or format make participation easier?

While we are passionate about keeping this group going, it is a volunteer-led initiative. We also need to be respectful of the time and resources of both the library and the facilitators. As much as we'd love to continue offering the group, we also need to be practical and ensure there is enough interest to make it sustainable.

If you'd like to attend the June 18 group, or if you have feedback or suggestions, please send us a message. We'd genuinely love to hear from you.

Thank you to everyone who has supported this group so far. We know how challenging parenting and caregiving can be, and we're grateful to be part of such a caring community. 💙
