🚫 RV fridges aren’t ā€œbadā€ā€¦ you’re just using it like your one at home, and that’s where you’re going wrong.

Here’s the deal:

1ļøāƒ£ Pre-cool it: These things need 8–12 hours before you load food. Certain types even need 24 hours. In most cases, turn it on the night before you leave.

2ļøāƒ£ Load it cold: Don’t shove in a week’s worth of warm groceries and expect magic. Chill your drinks and meat in your home fridge first.

3ļøāƒ£ Airflow matters: Don’t pack it tight. Leave space so cold air can move.

4ļøāƒ£ Shade & ventilation: RV fridges work by removing heat, not blasting cold. Keep the rig side with the fridge out of the sun when possible, and make sure the outside vent isn’t blocked.

5ļøāƒ£ Let it rest after travel: Absorption fridges don’t love being bounced around. Give it an hour before opening the door after you park.

6ļøāƒ£ Lastly, DON’T leave your fridge door open for long periods of time while you search for food, like James is here in this video. You’ll let all the cool air out, and it takes a long time before it will cool back down to a save level to preserve your food. Quick open, quick close.

āš ļø Remember… it’s an absorption fridge, not a household compressor fridge. It’s quieter, uses less power, but takes more prep and patience.

Furnace tips for -40C.
As per the chart, here are some tips to help with your furnace when temperatures reach -40C.
1) Place a treble light with a 50 watt indescent bulb around the propane regulator.
2) Wrap the treble light and regulator in tin foil.
3) Wrap a towel around the tin foil and regulator.
4) This will help make the rubber in the regulator more flexible and help with the flow of the propane.

Another Tip:
1) Wrap the propane tank with bubblewrap or a block heater magnet. Place this magnet on the propane tank about 18 inches from the bottom of the pig tank.
2) Place a large pillow on top of the propane tank. Cover the tank with blankets or old coats. This will help keep the propane warm.

Hope you will find this information helpful😊
