In case anyone is wondering why emissions are still so high
In honour of , we would like to remind everyone that in 2005, a MOU was signed by the federal government and the Canadian automotive industry. This MOU stated that "automobile manufacturers voluntarily agree to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from new vehicles in Canada so that by 2010, annual emissions reductions will reach 5.3 megatonnes" - https://lnkd.in/gKcvAWhy
Unsurprisingly, the target was missed by a whopping 95 per cent.
Without regulation like the EV Availability Standard, Canada will remain at a standstill. Or worse - we'll regress.

eMERGE Fights Climate Change
We do this by helping people reduce energy and water in their homes. Promoting smart behaviour, policy and improved efficiency helps build a road map to beat climate change and achieve 100% renewable energy by 2050. This has the added benefit of a healthier environment and a more resilient economy.
The eMERGE Home Tune-Up is a free one hour in home program that helps people reduce energy and water use while fighting climate change. And of course this can also help people save money.
The 100% Renewable Energy Guelph initiative, powered by eMERGE, spreads awareness and knowledge on transitioning to a 100% Renewable Energy future. Through events, talks and community discussions, eMERGE breaks down the barriers to the energy transition in Guelph away from fossil fuels.
