đ Meet Coach Gabby đ
With a Kinesiology degree from the University of Guelph-Humber and certifications in personal training and strength & performance, Gabriella brings both science and intention into every session.
A key strength of Gabby's is her lived experience. Years of competitive soccer shaped her understanding of discipline, resilience, and what it really takes to improve. She doesnât just coach movement â she understands the mindset behind performance.
After over a year as a coach at ALP, Gabby has a shown a rare ability to meet someone exactly where they are⊠without lowering the standard.
She builds strength without ego.
She coaches confidence without shortcuts.
She sees potential before her clients see it themselves.
Whether sheâs working with youth athletes building foundations or adults reclaiming their strength, she trains the person behind the program. For her, fitness isnât just about reps and sets â itâs about confidence, resilience, and long-term growth.
Gabby, weâre grateful for your consistency, your care, and the quality you bring to ALP every single day.
If sheâs helped you level up, drop a comment below and let her know đ

đ Meet Daniel Rico đš
Thereâs something powerful about a coach who has grown inside the process đđ
Daniel didnât just show up at ALP with a rĂ©sumĂ© â he showed up with humility, hunger, and a genuine love for human performance.
From starting martial arts at 12 years old to pursuing his degree in Kinesiology, Daniel has always been a student of movement. But over the last few years, his growth has accelerated in a big way.
Last summer, Daniel worked side by side with Adam, helping train our Pro-Elite hockey athletes. He was a HUGE help đŻ
Heâs worked with:
- Youth athletes just beginning their journey
- Division 1 caliber baseball and football players
- Professional NHL and MLB athletes and Pro Kickboxers
- Teachers, Yoga Instructors, Executives, and more!!
And heâs done it with maturity well beyond his years.
What sets Daniel apart isnât just exposure to such a wide variety of clientele including such high-level athletes â itâs how seriously he takes the craft.
Months of personal mentorship with our owner, Adam.
Daily conversations about standards.
Reps on the floor, with some of the best athletes in the world! Constant, purposeful, improvement.
Heâs also part of the Strength & Conditioning team at Redeemer University in Ancaster, working directly with collegiate athletes and continuing to sharpen his ability to coach at a high level.
Daniel understands something important:
High performance isnât loud.
Itâs disciplined. Itâs intentional. Itâs connected.
Whether heâs coaching a young athlete learning how to hinge properly for the first time or supporting a high-level competitor preparing for their season, he brings focus, care, and real technical understanding.
ALP is stronger because of him đȘ
Drop a đ for Daniel and the next generation of elite coaching done right!!
If youâre looking for a coach who blends high-performance exposure with real connection and attention to detail â Daniel is someone youâll want in your corner.

đ Here's some tips for tight hips đ
Dealing with stiff hips and struggling with mobility? Fix it with this 3-exercise series used by top hockey players and elite performers worldwide.
Whether youâre hitting the ice, the gym, or the boardroomâyour hips are non-negotiable. This simple, effective 3-exercise hip series has rescued countless hockey players, and itâs time it works for you.
Exercises:
1ïžâŁ Hip Rolls â Stay tall, roll the hip around, get that knee low without any knee pain. Loosen up your hip capsule, build control.
2ïžâŁ Seated Hip Range of Motion + Heel Taps â Activate those hip flexors from a lengthened position. Deep core, obliques, hip flexor⊠all coming online.
3ïžâŁ Hip Range of Motion Sweeps â External hip, adductors, groin, quads, calves + core integration. Game-changer for mobility and performance.
Why it matters:
- Improves hip mobility â better athletic performance, better business posture.
- Activates what most âmobilityâ drills miss (hip flexor, adductors, deep core).
- Ideal warm-up BEFORE leg day, sport, or even a long sit in the boardroom.
How to use:
ⶠDo this series as your warm-up 2-3 times/week.
ⶠBefore legs, before sport, or when your hips feel stiff.
ⶠFocus on control, range, and activationânot speed.
Who this is for:
1) Hockey players, athletes, executives, active adults.
2) Anyone who sits too much, lifts heavy, moves oftenâbut finds their hips âfrozen.â
3) Coaches, trainersâthis is a simple & effective tool to add to your kit.
Final note:
If your hips feel like they're âjust okay,â this will help you feel next-level. If youâve got performance goalsâon the field or in the officeâsharing this with your athletes, clients or friends means youâre helping them move better, perform stronger, and live healthier.
đ đ Meet Team ALP đȘđȘ And to be completely clear â ALP does not exist without them đŻ
The standard, the culture, the energy people feel the moment they walk through our doors... it's because of them!
This team shows up every day with care, professionalism, and pride in their work. They coach with intention. They listen before they speak. They hold people to high standards because they care about them.
They celebrate wins quietly and take responsibility seriously -> and they never forget thereâs a real human on the other side of every program, every session, every conversation đŻ
Iâm incredibly grateful for this group â not just for what they do, but for who they are đ such an amazing group of high quality human beings and professionals!
Over the next few months, every Tuesday, weâre going to introduce you to each coach individually.
If youâve ever wondered what itâs like to train at ALP â or who youâd actually be working with â this series will give you a real look inside.
From former Ironman competitors to former NHL Strength Coaches, Physiotherapists, Kinesiologists, Performance Mindset and Nutrition Coaches, and more -> you'll get to know their backgrounds, how they coach, and what drives them đ
Because if youâre trusting someone with your health, performance, or your childâs development â you deserve to know the people behind the process.
This is the team that makes ALP what it is.
Proud doesnât even begin to cover it. đ
