Weight loss does not have to be everyone’s goal. It’s perfectly fine if someone wants to lose weight and body fat as a goal but it’s not limited to only that.

Initially, I started to train to lose weight but as I got better and more experienced, I wanted to achieve other goals like lifting heavier, developing certain muscle groups.

As a personal trainer, I try not to assume my clients only want to lose weight. Some of my clients want to increase upper body strength or cross train to be stronger, more efficient runners. Other clients just want to move and improve mobility and feel good.

What are your reasons for working out?
