Bruleville Nature Park BioBlitz 🔎

Join the HNC and HCA for a family-friendly morning bioblitz at Bruleville Nature Park! Participants will learn how to use iNaturalist as well as field guides to identify the variety of living things in the park. Your observations will contribute to the current Natural Areas Inventory (NAI) and help our understanding of Hamilton’s environment.

If possible, participants should download the iNaturalist app and create an account prior to the event. Alternatively, participants can bring their own cameras to take photos and upload the photos to the web application at home. A tablet will be available for use if needed. Hamilton Odonata Count 🔎

Join us for our annual community science event focused on monitoring dragonflies and damselflies throughout the Flamborough area. Long-term monitoring efforts help track changes in species diversity, abundance and distribution over time while encouraging public education and appreciation for these fascinating insects.

Participants will meet at 9:00 AM to be assigned a section within the count area that they will survey for a half or full day. The count area is a 15 km radius from Kirkwall Rd x Concession 8 W, with a wide range of habitats at conservation areas, roadside stream crossings, and public rights-of-way.
