As 2025 comes to an end, we want to pause and simply say thank you.

Our LBS team is spread across different provinces, so being able to meet in person means so much to us. We talked, laughed, shared what inspired us in 2025, and ended the year with excitement for what 2026 will bring.

This year, we refreshed our website, completed many meaningful projects, and built many great relationships with our partners along the way. Every step was made possible by the people behind it.

We’re truly grateful for the teamwork, support, and effort everyone brought into 2025.

Wishing you all a warm, joyful Christmas and a restful holiday season!
Here’s to more growth, connection, and good moments together in 2026.

Merry Christmas 🎄

Construction at Canary Lofts is progressing well, with the full structural frame now in place and interior spaces beginning to take shape. Steel stud walls and floor joists have been completed through the upper levels, creating clear open floor plates and strong visibility into the layout of the future suites.

On the exterior, window installation and building envelope work are advancing steadily, with sheathing, air barrier, and detailing underway across the facade. Balcony slabs are also being installed, marking another key milestone for the project.

With both structural and envelope scopes moving forward in parallel, Canary Lofts is transitioning into its next phase of construction—bringing the project closer to occupancy and adding new, safe rental housing to the Kamloops community.

🚨 Over the weekend, a massive fire destroyed a six-storey apartment building under construction in Langley. Thankfully, no injuries were reported — but the incident highlights a growing concern across many communities.

During the construction phase, traditional wood-frame buildings remain highly vulnerable to fire — especially before fire suppression systems are installed. A single spark can quickly escalate into a devastating blaze, resulting in delays, higher costs, increased insurance premiums, and community safety risks.

At LBS, we believe there’s a better way forward.

Our non-combustible steel stud system offers inherent fire resistance, ensuring greater protection during and after construction. Beyond safety, steel also provides durability, sustainability, more favorable insurance profiles, and long-term value for developers and residents alike.

Every project is an opportunity to build safer, stronger communities. By embracing steel construction, we can reduce risks, stabilize costs, and create buildings that stand the test of time.
