At a time of volatile energy costs and growing demand for electricity, Canada is taking action to make energy more affordable and reliable for Canadians.

During today’s International Energy Agency (IEA) Annual Global Conference on Energy Efficiency in Montreal, we announced the Canada Greener Homes Affordability Program is launching in Quebec, British Columbia, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.

Now, low- to median-income households in these provinces will be able to undertake no-cost home retrofits, like heat pump installation.

This will save Canadian families and businesses money, reduce pressure on energy systems, and make Canadian homes more comfortable and sustainable.
