The fabric of nature and its relationship to humanity’s wellbeing is far too miraculous to be patented. Yet as a species, we have found ourselves in a world where it has been—and even amidst these circumstances, the power of the Earth’s wisdom and the resilience of traditional knowledge keepers have prevailed. We are currently standing at an extraordinary threshold where the knowledge of ancient Earth is rising from soils, water, and all living beings—and is simultaneously colliding with regenerative visions of the future to bring forth an entirely new way of life. Individuals all over the world are remembering, protecting, and maintaining the understanding that the sovereignty of human health is a birthright. How then, do we take the awareness of the Flexner Report as an example of humanity’s schism with nature, and continue to reclaim the health of ourselves and greater community regardless? The mountain of what has been demonized stands before us, yet a new mountain is growing from the core of the Earth and from the tenacity of our own hands. One that mirrors exactly how the traditional knowledge holders and healers of our ancestral past faced the challenge—as a preservation and reclamation of life’s foundational potential. Humanity’s ancient knowledge bank is still alive and breathing—we simply have to witness the gift of its resilience with the understanding that it is a blueprint for transformation from which we learn to integrate again, and expand upon—rather than as a well to drain. It is as quick as one generation for the wisdom gathered from the Earth to be forgotten, yet it is also as quick as one or few generations to build this wisdom back up—to remember and return to the incredible voice of nature in order to ground ourselves back into our own humanness.
