Red Dress Day

Observed on May 5, Red Dress Day honours Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit people. Red dresses displayed in public spaces symbolize the lives lost and the loved ones who are deeply missed.

Across communities, people gather for ceremonies, walks, and sharing circles to raise awareness, support healing, and call for justice and safety for Indigenous peoples.

Today, we remember, reflect, and stand together in support of Indigenous communities.

May is Sexual Violence Prevention Month in Alberta.

It's meant to raise awareness about sexual violence, support survivors, and promote education, prevention, and consent.

This month reminds us of the importance of creating safe, respectful spaces and supporting one another through compassion, understanding, and advocacy. Together, we can help build safer communities for everyone.

May is also a time to celebrate the history, culture, and contributions of Jewish Canadians. Throughout the month, communities come together through music, storytelling, learning, and traditional foods to honour Jewish traditions and achievements.

This is a time to recognize the resilience, faith, and rich heritage of Jewish communities and the important role they play in shaping Canada’s diverse and vibrant society.

What a weekend !

Our latest Thrift Event was a huge success, and it’s all thanks to this community.

Over two days, 38 incredible volunteers gave more than 142 hours of their time to make it happen. On Sunday alone, we welcomed 615+ shoppers through the doors and raised $3,965.80 for the Jasper Food Bank.

Thank you to our sponsors, Jasper Community Team Society and the Canadian Red Cross, for your support. And a big thank you to Full Circle for helping with extra donation pick-up.

To everyone who donated, volunteered, and shopped—this event doesn’t happen without you.

We also made several improvements based on feedback from our last event. As this program continues to grow and change, your input really matters.

If you have 2 minutes, we’d love to hear from you:
