A student research project at TRU is exploring how artificial intelligence could support future wildfire detection.

Recent computing science graduate Fernando Cerna worked with Dr. Anthony Aighobahi to develop an experimental prototype that explores how wireless sensors and AI could be applied to early wildfire detection.

The project gave Fernando valuable hands-on research experience while investigating technology with the potential to support future wildfire monitoring.
