Excellent article! Be sure to bookmark Pet Harmony.

Our newest blog post digs into signs your dog doesn't trust you — and more importantly, what to do about it.

Spoiler: building trust isn't just about being "nice." It's about creating an environment that's predictable, full of choice, and safe enough for your dog to feel genuinely secure.

Celebrating this fantastic resource!

I'm celebrating 14 years of writing (and podcasting) about how to help our dogs and cats have better lives.

I'm still here because this stuff matters, not just to dogs and cats, but also to their people. As I've said many times over the years, when you know what your pet needs and provide it for them, they will be happier and less likely to have behaviour issues--and you will be happier too, because what's nicer than having a happy and contented pet?!

The other reason I'm still here, of course, is because this stuff matters to you, too. I'm so grateful for the community of people that has built up around this blog, and for all the emails and messages I get whenever I publish a new post or when people have questions. I love to hear from you.

I'm excited about some things that are coming up later this year that I will be able to share with you soon.

I'd like to say a special thank you to Kristi for being such an excellent Special Correspondent to Companion Animal Psychology and for being such a fun co-host on the podcast.

And I'd also like to say a special thank you to everyone who has supported the blog over the past year. I couldn't have done it without you.

If you’d like to support my work, you can become a member or founding member of Companion Animal Psychology, or you can buy me a coffee, all via the link in bio.

Thank you, all, and Happy 14th Anniversary!

This is an excellent workshop, suitable for all dogs!

URBAN TRACKING WORKSHOP
Kamloops Canine Coaching is offering an URBAN TRACKING WORKSHOP on June 19 (evening), 20, and 21.

Registration is open now!!!
For more Information please contact me at:
[email protected]

This workshop is for all dogs and their people; no experience is required. If you attended last year, you know how much fun tracking is. There will be a beginners group and a returning student group.

In Tracking, dogs work alone, so it is ideal for reactive dogs.

Our Instructor, Teri Dunbrack, is an excellent teacher. She is knowledgeable, kind, and has a straightforward approach.

I love this sport and have found that I have been able to continue to work with my dog using the skills that I have learned over one weekend.

Tracking is a growing sport with new organizations on the rise. It is also a fantastic way to just have fun and tire your dog out at the same time. And you don't even have to leave town to do it!

Thank you
