One month ago I learned that my mother has a terminal illness that went from giving us 6 months with her, to only one month, and now we are suddenly in the final hours.
When my dad passed from this same illness 6 years ago I could not fathom leaving his side, but I was unaware how witnessing my dad’s last breath would change me. Breaking me and healing me entirely, all in that moment.
This time, as time gets closer, I feel an overwhelming anticipation of grief and relief simultaneously and it’s not unlike the anticipation of giving birth somehow.
Who will I be on the other side of this?
Will I remember all that I learned from last time?
Like, at first it might feel like I’m dying too, but the opposite will be true.
I hope I never stop being this brave.

Chariklo is named after the mythic partner of Chiron.
She is the one who stays present during times of transition and healing.
Her name means “graceful spinner” and is a reminder that healing doesn’t force or rush, but gently works things loose, helping what’s tangled begin to soften and unwind.
This gong carries the intention of holding steady, compassionate space, supporting clear boundaries, nervous system settling, and the quiet work of integration.
It’s for moments when things are shifting and you need something grounded, spacious, and supportive beneath you.
