Thanks to Brian Miller for sharing two videos of the 1971 Kelowna Regatta Parade! Brian let us know that: "My late parents had an 8 mm camera. They lived in Saskatchewan but were visiting Kelowna in 1971" This is the first video (4 minutes long) and it starts with a plane towing a banner reading "Simpsons Sears Greet Regatta". In order to clear the parade route a tow truck is seen hooking onto an Inland Electric truck under the watchful eye of a traffic cop in his Cushman scooter. The Parade footage shows lots of great looking cars and floats that are seen from the vantage point in front of the BC Tree Fruits building. Were any of our group at or in this parade? Perhaps you can spot yourself in this video!
