Question to City Council?

Why has having a business license to run a business in the City of Kingston

 Jumped so dramatically in one year?
From $88/year to $135/year.

Never has there been this Large of an increase in my 27 years as a business owner!!!

Post Covid city Council decided that every business owner in the city had to pay for a full year of a business license, even if they weren't opened up for the full year!

First business licence was $20.
And we receive nothing from City? They are paperless , we pay fee.
And have to print document and display

Is  council trying to get new businesses or just trying to shut down the ones that are here ?
