As 2025 comes to a close, I’m thinking about the resilience and heart of our community.
To everyone celebrating the holidays, I hope this season brings you joy and renewal. As we enjoy the festivities, let’s also keep our neighbors who might be struggling in our thoughts and prayers. True community spirit is about lifting each other up.

Events like this remind us why we must work toward a Somali Culture Month in Canada — a time to showcase our art, music, stories, and language, just as other nations proudly honour their heritage. Let’s preserve it, live it, and pass it on.
