How cute is Benny?! Benny lost one of his front legs in an accident when he was younger. He has managed well over the years but walking on 3 legs has caused increased stress on his joints. He has developed osteoarthritis as well as intervertebral disc disease with mild nerve impingement. Benny recently tried to chase after a rabbit and caused a flare of back pain as well as increased impingement of the nerves in his hind legs. We are going to work on decreasing his pain as well as maintaining mobility in his joints and strength in his muscles. We want to try to reduce the increased stress on his joints as he continues to age.

Harley was such a good girl for her assessment with CanineTech Rehab! Harley has a sprain of her CCL, mild laxity of her patella and hyperextension of her knee. She also has decreased muscle mass in her hind leg. Harley's confirmation and genetics is a contributing factor to her knee injury. Harley has strengthening and weight bearing exercises to work on. We need to increase the strength and stability in her hind leg to prevent further injuries and to help with the healing process.

Zoey is 11 years old and has been getting weaker in her hind end, which is putting more strain on her front end. In the past, Zoey has had TPLOs on both hind legs for CCL tears. She now has degenerative changes in her spine with mild nerve irritation resulting in progressive weakness in her hind legs. She also has biceps tendinitis due to overusing her front legs. Zoey has exercises to work on to help increase her strength and proprioception. We are going to work on keeping Zoey strong and active in her older years. Zoey is a sweet, gentle girl who was a perfect participant in her physio!
