🐾 Happy Tails: Bill

It’s been about a year since Bill was adopted, and his family says their hearts and home have been forever changed 🏡 Bill has become best friends with his brother Benny and takes his role as protector of his other brother, Archie, very seriously.

While he has a big heart, he’s also a giant goofball whose favourite things in life are snuggles, love, and spending time with his family 🩵 When he’s not hanging out with his brothers, you can usually find Bill relaxing in “his chair,” keeping watch out the window with his favourite humans nearby.

We’re so happy Bill found the loving family he deserves 🏡

A huge shout out and thank you to a wonderful group from the Waterloo Catholic District School Board who raised $350 through a car wash and bake sale! 🍰

The funds they collected will go directly toward supporting the animals in our care 🐾 While they were here, we had the pleasure of giving them a tour of the Kitchener Centre

Thank you for stopping by, spending time with our animals, and helping make a difference in their lives. We truly appreciate your support!

A Second Chance, Just in Time! 🐾

It began with a persistent cry, and strong enough to reach the heart of a passerby. While out for a walk, a kind member of the public heard the unmistakable sound of a cat meowing. Trusting their instincts, they followed the cries until they made a heartbreaking discovery.

Hidden away was a female cat, tightly bound inside a thick, sturdy plastic bag, discarded, abandoned, and left without a way out. The bag was not very breathable, and without human intervention, her chances of survival could have ended tragically. In a desperate act to stay alive, she had managed to chew a small hole in the thick plastic, creating just enough space to breathe and cry out for help. It was that tiny act of resilience, and her persistence, that saved her life.

The good Samaritan carefully took her out of the bag and brought the cat to the Stratford Perth Humane Society, where our team immediately sprang into action. A full assessment was completed to determine if urgent medical care was needed. Against all odds, this sweet cat had survived her ordeal without critical injury.

Today, Diamond is safe, warm, and cared for. She is also surrounded by people who will give her the compassion she was denied 💙

Stories like Diamond’s are both heartbreaking and inspiring. While we can't undo what she endured, we can make sure her future is filled with kindness, security, and love. Thanks to one attentive and caring individual, one incredibly determined cat, and a caring team of people, a life was saved.

Diamond has been adopted and is living with her furever family 🔷 Happy endings do happen!
