We’ve had the privilege of hearing families share their stories, welcomed new resident suite sponsors, received support from local organizations, continued conversations with businesses and corporations, and are working with local partners and artists to help make the new La Ronge & Area Long Term Care Home feel welcoming and comfortable for residents.

Spotlight Saturday!

This week we would like to thank the wonderful couple, Bill & Glenys Plunz, for their $12,000 sponsorship of a resident suite within the new La Ronge & Area Long Term Care Home.

Bill & Glenys have lived in the La Ronge area since 1974 and have been an incredible part of our communities from the day they moved here!

From raising their family, growing their careers and being part of multiple organizations in town, such as Peanut Productions, they are true assets to our community, & we are so proud to have them call La Ronge Area home!

They reached out to our Fundraising Coordinator in December, knowing they would like to be a part of bringing accessible healthcare closer to home by sponsoring a resident suite; they are helping us reach our $5,000,000 goal to furnish & equip the new La Ronge & Area Long Term Care Home, Dialysis Unit & Expanded Therapies Area.

Spotlight Sunday!

A huge THANK YOU to the entire Peanut Productions crew & supportive community for their $12,000 sponsorship of a resident suite within the new La Ronge & Area Long Term Care Home!

Peanut Productions has been putting on shows in our Tri-Community for well over 30 years. Their commitment to providing our community with amazing theatre is stronger than ever. The amount of effort put into the shows is absolutely incredible. They are a non-profit organization that helps our community prosper through the arts & bringing healthcare closer to home, with proceeds of multiple shows & raffles going directly to our campaign. For that, we are truly grateful!

From the Peanut Productions Crew:

"Peanut productions began in 1991 as a fundraising idea for the then-new hospital build. It took place in the Gordon Denny school gym for two nights. After three years of fundraising for that project, Peanut Productions became a yearly event. It’s been 33 years and 36 different plays. All proceeds after expenses have been returned to support the various community programs and projects. And this year, we have come full circle to our roots in support of the new long-term care facility. "

We have heard many stories over the past few months about families being spread across the province, from Prince Albert to Regina, or travelling on an almost daily basis to access the care their loved ones need.

Our fundraising goal of $5,000,000 is to help furnish and equip the new La Ronge & Area Long Term Care Home, bringing healthcare closer to home.

When families can stay closer together, and care is available closer to home, it improves quality of life for everyone involved.

Another Spotlight Saturday!

The La Ronge Elks & Ron Fiske - sometimes, the impact of an organization can’t be measured by a single announcement alone. There is still more to come.

50 years of service, generosity, and community spirit that have shaped La Ronge and the entire Tri-Community area.

When anyone talks about the history of the La Ronge Elks Lodge, they can’t talk for long without talking about Ron Fiske.

Ron is one of the founding members of the club, starting in 1975, and truly, is one of the biggest reasons the Elks are still here today. He has been here through it all - every fundraiser, every project, every challenge, and every success.

His commitment has been steady, genuine, and unwavering for five decades.

Shea Duncan on Wednesday evening:

"One of Ron’s greatest strengths has always been his ability to adapt - welcoming new members, embracing new approaches to the club dynamics, and always keeping the Elks on the mission that has guided us from the beginning: to support where we can, and to make our Tri-Community a better place to grow up and live in.

On behalf of the La Ronge Elks, we are proud to announce that we’ve sponsored a resident suite in the new La Ronge & Area Long Term Care Facility that will be commemorated in Ronnie’s name. This is our way of recognizing not just his years of service, but the heart, leadership, and dedication he has poured into this Elk’s club and our Tri-Community.

We want people - today and in the future - to understand that it's commitment like Ron’s that has kept this club alive and continuing to grow for 50 years. His example reminds us of what it means to serve, to care, and to give back."
