We are very fortunate to be receiving the donations from this monthโ€™s themed burger and are also proud to recognize great farming families like the Bruningโ€™s!

Saturday, September 27th was a beautiful day to ring in our 30th season of the Central AB Foodgrains Growing Project!!

We were very happy to be joined by many members of the community to watch our 72 acres of canola be brought in by 6 combines (including a classic Gleaner and New Holland) and two semis courtesy of Vision Truck Lines.

The field averaged around 40.5 bushels/acre which raised a total of $37,353.46. We were fortunate to receive $860 in donations on the harvest day as well as Richardson Pioneer informed us of a very generous crop donation from a Lacombe County farmer for $18,234.24. This brings our total for our 30th year to $56,447.70!!

A huge thank you goes out to all the combine operators for providing their time and equipment to take off the harvest! Another big shout out to all of the volunteers over the season for their contributions and thank you to the community for joining us and showing your support!

We would also like to give thanks to Decisive Farming by Telus Agriculture for the wonderful lunch and Gem Silage for drinks and extra provisions!
As well, thank you to Parrish & Heimbecker, Limited in Joffre and Rebecca with Farm Credit Canada for coffee and donuts!

With 30 years of this project in the rear view, we feel exceptionally grateful to be able to celebrate another successful season and another year of contributing towards ending global hunger. Thank you again to the incredible Central AB community for supporting this endeavour and we canโ€™t wait to see everyone again next year!
