Just over two years ago I was asked by my sister to attend and capture the birth of my niece, and I have to say, it still one of my top experiences of all time.

I still remember attending my first birth as a student nurse. I hadn’t had any of my own babies yet, so the whole experience was completely foreign to me (other than what I had read about in a textbook or watched in bio 30). But being able to witness someone bring life into the world was such a life changing experience. Now change “someone” to “my little sister”, bringing “my niece” into the world, well life changing somehow doesn’t even seem to cut it.

I am so thankful that my sister allowed me to be in her little sanctuary that day. And although I can’t share some of what I would say are my favorite images I have ever taken, hopefully these 10 little squares show you at least a teeny peek into what a total BA Goddess my sister is for VBACing all 9lbs of chunky sassy niece.

So many times I have heard parents promise ice cream or treats after a session. “If you smile” “if you’re good” “if you listen” etc. (Me. I am parents 😂) But you know what brings out the biggest smiles? Ice cream DURING the session.
